F.C. Tucker Company sales associate pegg kennedy was recently awarded the 2005 Bud Tucker Volunteer of the Year Award, the company's highest annual honor for volunteer service in the community. The award was presented by Fred C. Tucker III, president of the F.C. Tucker Company. The award is named in honor of Fred Tucker's father, who was deeply committed to serving the community. In presenting the award, Tucker said, “Although extraordinarily busy as a top agent in the company, pegg kennedy still finds time to give back to her community. Her involvement shows she has a strong, long-term commitment to helping others.” Kennedy, who has been with F.C. Tucker Company's Castleton office since 1988 and holds a GRI (Graduate, REALTOR ® Institute) designation, was recognized for her volunteer efforts with the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association, the executive board of the Urban League, the boards of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis and the St. Vincent Hospital Guild. She also volunteers to read aloud to people who are blind and serves as a docent with Historic Landmarks of Indiana. Kennedy said, “Bud Tucker, our founder, believed that people need to pay their civic rent. Likewise, my mother always thought community service was just something you did – an obligation we have to help out. You do these things for yourself and for other people; you don't think about being recognized. Even the fact that someone thought to nominate me is an honor.” The honor comes in a year when pegg kennedy was also recognized as one of the top 10 F.C. Tucker sales associates in central Indiana and received the Marketing Excellence Award for representing more home buyers than any other associate. F.C.
